Blog assignment 6

The most useful approach to use in critically analyzing The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemmingway is "Santiago as Archetypal Hero". In this story, Santiago is an old man, had not taken any fish for a long time, and seems to be poor or unlucky. Howevwe, from this point of view, he basically has sense of "Hero". At NP lecture, I agreed with that he values human relationships over money and esteem and that he esteems action and identity, not talking. Understanding this point of view, I thought things are not what they seem. That gives me a broader interpretation of The Old Man and the Sea. This is why I think this approach is the most appropriate.
